i know…i know. halloween is fast approaching, so it was *inevitable* i would (not on purpose) create an orange & black outfit. to be honest, this cardigan kinda looks more “camel” in real life than orange. no excuse…*sigh*

evie orange cardigan (via temple rummage sale)

for those of you that don’t know, i like to be fashionable, but i’m also a total geek at heart. here i am at the philly comic con, one of the biggest comic book conventions around for a weekend of relaxing fun & fangirl geekdom! it’s kinda ironic that the website advertising behind me says geek *AND* chic…

i actually recently bought a fabulously ginormous white straw wide brimmed hat from h&m. can’t wait to rock that this summer. it’s soooo j.lo, soooo 40s glamour with a 2-piece bathing suit, sunglasses the size of dinner plates and a cocktail by the pool…ahhhhh, i need another vacation.

i would never have thought to combine these 2 colors…having lived in FL & having to see the Gator blue/orange all over the place, i guess i subconsciously had an aversion to it. the darker teal though instead of a bright blue is a much better color to go with the orange. i love this military style jacket that i scored in spain, so the chance to wear it in a color combo i never imagined makes it that much more versatile.

ever since i saw coquette’s write up on the heidi merrick fall collection, i’ve been obsessed with the combination of such strong colors as bright orange & teal/peacock. orange is not a favorite of mine, so i had to dig *deep* in the drawer to find something sorta, kinda, almost suitable to replicate this color palette.
