it’s funny how things in one’s life kind of align at particular moments. i bought this necklace on another thrifting excursion & it kind of reminded me of an amulet or something worn during one of those renaissance fairs. the hotel we’re staying at in new hampshire actually looks like a castle. it has turrets, medieval knight themed tapestries around & even suits of armor!

off we go adventuring! well, not really adventuring. we had a goody ol’ time in new hampshire doing not much of anything really. just driving around, stopping at shops here & there, walking our dog, getting slurpees at 7-11 & just enjoying the nice cool, but sunny fall day :)

i’m soooo not a matchy-matchy person when it comes to jewelry sets. do you know people like that (like my mom)? who have to buy the whole set…the earrings that match the necklace that match the bracelet that match the ring. when i first scoped out these earrings, the lady at the thrift store said there was a matching necklace & pulled it out (see above). i was sold.

kind of evoking my polka dots on crack outfit from a few weeks back…down to the circular necklace matching the dots…hahaha :) this old navy spotted & striped blouse is pretty dang ancient. when digging through my closet for clothes to
get rid ofbring to china, i found some oldies but goodies, so hopefully i can totally do the “shop in my closet” thing & not buy any new things for a while.

the final exquisite piece? this crystal statement necklace that as soon as i saw on milla jovovich for ann taylor, i KNEW i was going to get (and having a 30% off discount helped a lot)! how fortuitous that it happened to perfectly match the “polka dot” theme!

definitely addicted to the double finger rings…espesh when forever 21 has some of the bestest & cheapest ones. yet another cross ring…less than $4. whaaaaat??? this necklace cost only a *little* bit more, but i love the little boxes. don’t they look like origami cubes? i remember being crazy into origami & making these, you actually have to blow into them to puff them up into nice, airy cubes of paper, but i never thought to string them together into a necklace!

a simple huge crystal statement necklace from ebay a few months ago to match the cognac color of my wedges. also, i’m really loving the side braid lately, just a regular one today though, instead of a fishtail. it’s easy to do…i’m even wearing it like this while working out :)

even after tim gunn’s wonderful talk & i wholly became a fan of the colorful clothing, it was the kate spade accessories that spoke to me the loudest. i came away with 2 necklaces. this one reminded me of the times i worked in hospitals & i LOVED the “pen on a rope” that we would get free from drug companies. it was just so handy to have a pen around your neck whenever you needed it & i would defend it vehemently against the droves of lame people asking “do you have a pen i can borrow?” oh hellz no! then i’d never get it back! this heavier enamel pen is more polished & is a cute pendant all by itself.
