i like buying big satin ballgown type skirts instead of a full-on gown. there’s many more styling options when you do it that way. wearing this rodarte for target navy lace blouse with the skirt keeps the look fancy, but not too stuffy or overly formal, if you know what i mean :)

ta da! well, just adding a mask doesn’t really require a *lot* of preparation, but i still needed a mirror to do it without messing up my poufy hair. hahaha!

this was the last *nice* sequined mask i found at iparty. yeah, it was stupid to wait until the last minute & going to iparty on halloween eve was just a suicide run.

ok, finally in the ballroom! my friends & i arrived *kinda* late, so i think we missed the more schmoozing “ball” part of the “masquerade ball” which is fine with me. we’re waiting now for the “rock the runway” part of the night to begin :)

there were several designers that showcased tonight, but my favorite one was the designer whose collection was “alice in wonderland” inspired. i’m dumb for not paying attention & getting her name, but i loved all her looks! they were all fantastical yet wearable! this dress is obviously the “white rabbit” outfit :)

here’s the designer & her signature pieces. the dress on the left i LOVED! my friend who had never been to a runway show before asked if the fox was real with a horrified look on her face. i told her it probably was, but hopefully it’s vintage. not that that made a difference to her, but it was still quite exquisite. it also looks a bit too big to me, so hopefully could also just be a well-done faux piece. the dress on the right i ABSOLUTELY LOVED. it was a simple long white dress with a flared hemline & cursive words written all over it. i wish i had a better pic of it. i could totally picture it as a wedding dress! imagine if you had it personalized with you & your spouse’s name & your vows written on it? truly inspired!
