  2. × i kinda jerry-rigged this dress where i pulled up the self-attached belt high enough to be tied around by the collar. who doesn’t like a good bowtie at the neck?

  3. × even when it’s not the *hot* color of the moment, camel (along with gray) have always been my long-time favorite autumn colors. it was too cold to go out with just the blazer, so topping this whole outfit although not shown, my new camel wool coat too :)

  4. × this blouse was probably the first item i EVER bought from h&m. crazy huh? that’s why i don’t throw anything away (which if you see how i can’t shut my drawers, you know why), but you still would never know what is old (the blouse)…what is new (the skirt)…they all mix & match so well :)

  5. × my first third attempt at a fishtail braid which after googling instructions (gawd how i love the internetz for instant information), i found out was pretty easy to do…just meticulous & time-consuming than the standard kind. i usually leave my long hair down & then always just have a band on my wrist ready for a quick & dirty ponytail, so i was surprised i actually “styled” my hair today just for work.

  6. × speaking of this bird print, i have some other miu miu “inspired” things going on (ooooo…do i smell a DIY in the works?) hopefully, that will come to fruition soon. unfortunately, i always start projects with such vim & vigor, but then am over it so quickly…leaving half-done tasks all over the house. putting it out there will hopefully get my lazy ass in gear.

  7. × i can’t wait for the warm spring weather to arrive & finally stay, so i could wear my open-toed & lighter colored shoes. HOWEVER, i am also glad we still have these cooler days so i can wear these black velvet & gold wedges while i still can!

  9. × i would say i usually reserve my dharma neck plate by the glamourai for shrimpton couture for special occasions, but a weekend of fun in NYC classifies as special, especially with all the plans i have going. i’ll be wearing this statement piece almost every day :)

  10. × tonight was probably the most laid back of the evening plans i have this weekend…met with friends for an italian dinner in hell’s kitchen, went to another bar for drinks & then just relaxed with MDH back at the hotel

  11. × these seem to be my go-to friday boots as i also wore them last week. while casual friday means jeans & t-shirt to some, for me, it’s more like low-heeled shoes…or boots. yes, young’uns, even *i* need to take a break from the 5-inchers every now & again :)dress:  h&m (via buffalo exchange)tights:  targetdove double ring:  forever 21boots:  pour la victoire

  12. × another great & cheap find at buffalo exchange…this which i will now herald my h&m “prairie dress” :) it’s a little long though…gotta add it to my (growing) pile of items that need alternations. *sigh*…in true laura ingalls spirit, i actually can hem my own clothing. unfortunately, time is my elusive friend these days :(

  14. × i would like a proper boyfriend jacket in black, however this is definitely my go-to blazer which would be the complete opposite of menswear…i love it’s poufy rounded shoulders (not too bold), flared cuffs, tight tapered fit at the waist & the cutest embroidered flowers on the pockets :)

  15. × this one seems tougher or rather, requires more time commitment. i’m sure i could knit up the shawl part as i’ve done before & then sew on the faux fur to the sleeves. i love this look so much…so very clair huxtable :)
