  3. ↔ × → even when it’s not the *hot* color of the moment, camel (along with gray) have always been my long-time favorite autumn colors. it was too cold to go out with just the blazer, so topping this whole outfit although not shown, my new camel wool coat too :)

  4. ↔ × → i actually didn’t mean to get so dressed up today. the day started off still drizzly & dreary. however, i find it easiest to just put on a dress & go. i don’t know how other people do it…matching shirts with pants, keeping the shirt tucked in, it’s too much for me! friends think i put a lot of effort into dressing up, when really dresses are the ultimate lazy woman’s wear. guess that means i’ll be wearing a lot of housecoats or muu-muus when i’m old…hahaha!

  10. ↔ × → it’s been a great weekend…taking my in-laws & other friends to a great BBQ restaurant owned by MDH’s childhood friend, having a casual dinner & visiting with MDH’s grandma (who is going to be 99 years old…wowza!), enjoying my FIL’s homemade apple pie (from the apple tree in the back lot area) & just lazing about with the dogs (my peenut & their daisy) on the back porch. ahhhhh…lazy last days of summer :(

  12. ↔ × → speaking of wearing something old, since i can’t wear *everything else* i wore on my wedding night years ago…hahaha…i did one just as good. this dress was custom made for me & it was what i wore it the night of my rehearsal dinner. this is the first time i’ve worn it since then over 5 years ago. sheesh…i gotta look through my clothes racks more often :/

  13. ↔ × → all of my most important memories of my husband & i always tend to circulate around one constant…the fact that they seem to involve sushi in some way. our first date was a sushi dinner. the first summer that i moved in with him, i worked as a waitress at a sushi restaurant. we can finally now joke about the sushi debacle of tokyo 2007. soooo, it’s no surprise that for our anniversary dinner…we had more of our favorite food…SUSHI!!!

    all of my most important memories of my husband & i always tend to circulate around one constant…the fact that they seem to involve sushi in some way. our first date was a sushi dinner. the first summer that i moved in with him, i worked as a waitress at a sushi restaurant. we can finally now joke about the sushi debacle of tokyo 2007. soooo, it’s no surprise that for our anniversary dinner…we had more of our favorite food…SUSHI!!!

  14. ↔ × → they didn’t have the sparkling sake that i wanted, so the waitress suggested this still chilled, yet cloudy, sake. i was intrigued. it was very good…a bit on the sweet side which was fine with me :) for dinner, we went simple & asked for sushi omakase style. omakase basically means “up to you,” in other words whatever the chef felt like serving was fine with us. MDH & i love all kinds of fish & shellfish & are not allergic to anything, so we are up for anything. we were NOT disappointed…super fresh uni, scallion-enhanced mackerel, torched snapper, young yellowtail & red salmon…to name a few. YUMMMM!

  15. ↔ × → ahhhh…back at the hotel, very happy with a full belly :) one last note on this dress. i wish i had saved the picture of it, but it’s a recreation of a dress i saw nicole kidman wearing which i obviously liked 5 years ago. i still like it to this day…the black chiffon straps & bow & off-the-shoulder sleeve details are still cute. hopefully it won’t be another 5 years before i wear it again…sheesh!
